Below is a copy of our email to Essential Edinburgh about the use of the gardens in St Andrew Square. It is heartbreaking to see such a beautiful space vandalized in this way. We are grateful to Spurtle for showing us how to protest.

We are joining local residents of Edinburgh to express how devastated we are at the treatment of St Andrew Square. This was a beautiful space, watching the seasonal changes was a delight and we can't believe what is happening there.
The beautiful, dignified city of Edinburgh is being turned into a second rate Disneyland.
Please restore the area, it is no comfort to know that the companies who caused the destruction are having to pay for it. It should never have happened in the first place.
