You can advertise either in the print version (space is very limited and not always available), or the online version, or both.
The paper versions cost £37 per month (or £25 for the horizontal bar) and we usually print up to 2,500 of them. At no extra charge, an advert here will also appear in the colour pdf of each issue (downloadable from our website) and beside our online articles. We are happy to design simple but eye-catching adverts for free.
The online version is in colour, costs £6 per month, and again we are happy to design simple adverts with a hyperlink to your website or email address at no extra charge.
Before COVID-19, Spurtle's website was accessed by around 8,000 unique visitors per month. That figure has multiplied vastly since, reflecting new readers across wider areas of Edinburgh and further afield.
Spurtle suspects US liberals roaming the Internet in search of Town-Hall-discussion models free of rancour and violent language, who have encountered the paper through Bluesky and remained loyal, may partially explain this phenomenon. The news-aggregating Edinburgh Minute, founded in 2023 has also played a highly significant role.
Before boasting too loudly in public, Spurtle team members are currently trying to authenticate and cross-match their website's metrics. If they are as flattering as they appear, expect to find the Editor restyling himself as an influencer issuing fashion tips for the older compost heap about town.
