First of many?

Dear Spurtle

Read your article regarding Pheasants (Issue 273, p.3).

I took the attached photograph of a well- camouflaged hen pheasant strutting about the Royal Botanic Garden on a very cold day earlier this year (8 January 2018).

Dear Spurtle

Thursday 12 April, around 9.30 in the morning, my neighbour and l spotted a pheasant walking somewhat gingerly (in colour and gait!)  along the middle of Dalmeny Street.

It nervously dodged all the oncoming cars, but it nonetheless had the air of being somewhat dismayed.  What a beautiful bird it was and l hope still is.
