Ruffled feathers in the New Town

Dear Spurtle,

I was anticipating a feature on the unfortunate carving that has appeared opposite our house. You did not dissapoint [Issue 283].

As a 3D-designer and environmental artist, I can say with some confidence that it is worse that witless. It is amateurish and has no place in an historic landscape setting.

I assume it has been placed by a well-meaning Council, but in the process no thought has been given to scale, context, or general appropriateness.

It should be removed, as should the other ill-conceived landscape/place-making interventions in the New Town.
