Louise Rhodes and Carol Hopkins examine themes of literal and psychological distance, real and imagined travel, in a joint exhibition this summer at Edinburgh Printmakers.
New prints produced at EP over the last 2 years will appear beside related work in other media from 7 June–19 July.
Pictured is Hopkins’ drawing ‘Instrument’.

At the Collective Gallery on Calton Hill until 15 June is French artist Camille Henrot’s prizewinning film and poem Grosse Fatigue.
Drawing on anthropology, ethnography and social archaeology, it aims to explain the creation of the universe by examining ‘global links between the construction of knowledge and its relationship to haptic experience’. Grosse Fatigue is French for Extreme Tiredness.
The film, which contains a very little adult material, has proved unexpectedly popular with parties of Chinese tourists. Perhaps because they have grown extremely tired of Edinburgh skylines.

The floral study below is by Edinburgh artist and reformed lawyer Sheila Chapman. It is one of the works which will appear in August as part of the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care (see Events).
The event, which will be held in Bonham's on Queen Street, has changed its 'traditional' timing from the autumn. This reflects its growing popularity and the desire of organisers to be part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
All the works will be for sale, with those shown last year realising around £25,000 for this very worthy cause. Artists wishing to submit their work should follow the link above by 20 June.
