THEFT, HUMOUR, AND THE PROBLEM WITH MODERN ART

Bellevue Road residents are mystified and annoyed by strange nocturnal goings-on.

On Sunday morning (16 August) the Finlaysons woke to find their front garden bench was missing, replaced by two planters (pictured) placed neatly on either side of the door. Presumably someone in the area is missing these planters.

Was it thieves who had taken the planters, but then seen a bench that looked more saleable? Or is it a practical joke? Or is it a practical joke masquerading as 'Art'?

Whatever the answer, the Finlaysons would like their bench back, and would like to reunite the planters with their owners. In the meantime, they are keeping the plants watered.

If you've lost your planters, acquired a bench, or can shed any light on this mystery, let Spurtle know.
