200 NEW FLATS ON BROUGHTON'S DOORSTEP

Submitted by Editor on

The Bonnington Partnership has announced plans for a major new development of 200 flats on Bonnington Road Lane (Ref. 14/03896/PAN).

Ashley Place also falls within the designated area (see map at foot of page), which is just outside Spurtleshire but likely to affect local roads, schools and shops in due course.

The outline proposal – by EMA Architects + Design, the company behind the McDonald Road Colonies and an early design for the Shrub Hill gap-site – will be introduced during a public consultation in McDonald Road Library from 3.00–8.00pm on 4 November.

Bonnington Road Lane (pictured above) is rather unassuming, but opens out into a very large mostly open area close to the John Lewis repository.

The scheme is intriguingly described as a ‘residential led regeneration’, which begs the question: What exactly will follow?

We know nothing of the Bonnington Partnership except that its address is given on the Application form as 11a Dublin Street.
