Spare a thought for Lara Mitchell of Napier Bathrooms and Interiors in Canonmills.
The Glasgow School of Art graduate is the resident interior designer here, and delights in fashioning the store’s distinctive window displays.
But this beautifully blue Christmas tree has sorely tried her patience. It’s the third version she has built this year entirely from bathroom catalogues (see the daylight shot below) – the previous larger two having collapsed in a slithering avalanche of glossy photography.
As with Lara’s recent Halloween creation, the new display, she says, has drawn admiring comments from local passers-by.
We can well believe it, even though it sounds like a shameless plug.
