Locals report a heavy police presence on East Claremont Street early yesterday afternoon, with around eight vehicles attending, one side of the carriageway sealed off, and some officers donning protective gear.
A single individual was involved in a disturbance within a property. The incident was resolved without risk to the public or anybody coming to harm.
Today a Police Scotland spokesman told Spurtle: 'A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance that happened in East Claremont Street yesterday afternoon (Thursday, June 20). He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Friday).'
