Tramworks scheduled for the next few weeks 'have the potential to impact on traffic flows, pedestrian access and utility services to properties' in the East End of the city.

Officials say they are informing stakeholders, and striving to minimise disruption (for example, by fitting work around church services at St Paul's and St George's on York Place).
However, they acknowledge that the drainage chamber working from 24 November–9 December in particular may cause traffic congestion. It is 'hoped' (not guaranteed) that by this stage traffic will be able to use Princes Street, reducing the pressure of diverted traffic along Albany Street, Abercromby Place, Heriot Row and Northumberland Street.
However, if circumstances dictate that traffic cannot use Princes Street, many locals predict meltdown at Picardy Place and the top of Broughton Street.
