FOUR CITIES UNDER THE SURFACE

Submitted by Editor on

An outdoor exhibition of words and photographs is being staged in the Rodney Street Tunnel for the next month.

Hold me Dear features over 40 images of ‘extra(ordinary)’ favourite places in four cities – Copenhagen, Istanbul, Hamburg and Edinburgh – captured by the extraordinary people who live there.

They range from harbour scenes to urban playgrounds, treasured allotments to café tables, docks, stations, a former jail and even the interior of an abandoned hospital.

Some are touchingly banal. Others, breathtaking.

Among the Edinburgh collection is one by regular Spurtle contributor Rhys Fullerton (below).

In the accompanying caption he explains:

Inverleith Park was made for Sunday morning strolls. I love how the lght in this photo is creeping through the trees and lighting up the path. The trees on either side are working in perfect wymmetry to create a wonderful effect.

The exhibition, set up by local design and landscape architecture practice Here + Now, continues until 20 October. Admission free.
