THE FUTURE OF POLICING IN BROUGHTON – PUBLIC MEETING

Submitted by Editor on

Police Scotland is the new national police service which will start operating on 1 April 2013.

It will absorb the Lothian and Borders Police we all know, love, and occasionally run away from in Broughton at the moment.

A new 'Local Policing Plan for Edinburgh' – as well as a new 'Fire and Rescue Service Plan' – will be delivered by a new Local Police and Fire Committee.

Communities and organisations in Wards 11, 12 and 13 (City Centre, Leith Walk, Leith) are invited to a meeting on Wednesday 10 December about how policing will change in the capital, and how they can influence its priorities.

You are invited to attend for 20–30 minutes at any point between 7pm and 9pm in the City Chambers, where senior council and police officers will be on hand to answer your questions.

The meeting will have an 'open-mic' format whereby everyone should get an opportunity to incriminate themselves.

(Those planning to attend are requested to Tel. 469 3853 first.)
