Our thanks go to Tibor Farkas who, responding to Ellen Netherby and the cormorant she spotted in April, has sent us another strange sighting of his own.
‘I was walking past St Andrew’s House when this ghostly chicken leapt off the pavement at me.
‘Or it may be a pigeon.’
Like Netherby’s apparition on Oxcraig Street, this latest example of pareidolia has resulted from one of Edinburgh’s legion of clumsy decorators sloshing paint at random on their way to or from a parked van.
If you’ve noticed other cases of this interesting phenomenon in Greater Spurtleshire, please send us your jpeg here.
