ISSUE 211 – COMING SOON!

Submitted by Editor on

October's Spurtle is ripening on the metaphorical horse chestnut tree of news and will drop soon onto an expectant north-central Edinburgh.

Issue 211 is packed with local intelligence: we have the latest on diversions and dumps, gallivanting athletes and their celebrations, education, chihuahua aversion and erotic musical wind instruments.

Television celebrities appear this month, along with rooftop determination, wiggliness, tweeters and Broughton Street's long lost chemical laboratories.

Feeling unfit and over the top? We have advice from down under. Curious about old Canonmills? We review the autobiography of a 6-month-old baby.

Cutlery, ceramic theft and carpet bowls all find a place within our 4 action-packed pages, as do punctual contractors and the travails of Dutch Elm Disease.

Spurtle will appear next week in clubs, shops, eateries, drinkeries, galleries, libraries, other places ending in ies, bike shops, hair salons, newsagents and greengrocers. Alternatively, you can download a pdf in glorious colour from the top-right-hand corner of our home page at www.broughtonspurtle.org.uk.

Remember, if you have news, views or images about Broughton, we always want to hear from you. You can either write a piece yourself – all lengths are welcome – or send us the raw facts and we'll polish them up for you and dangle them from a string. Spurtle depends on you.
