Early plans for a new development on the old Martin & Frost site at 130 McDonald Rd (Breaking news, 17.4.12) will go on show for the first time tomorrow.
Staff from EMA Architects will be on hand to explain drawings and answer questions in the foyer at McDonald Road Library from 3pm–8pm. If you can't attend, don't worry: the plans will remain on show for 2 weeks and there will be a second presentation at the New Town and Broughton Community Council meeting on 14 May (7.15pm, Broughton St Mary's Parish Church, Bellevue Crescent).
Input from the public at this stage is supposed in theory to affect the shape of the proposal before it later enters the Planning process as an application. Cynics may doubt the efficacy of these arrangements, but optimists like us respond that the surest way for the public to have no influence is not to participate.
