NEW ANGLE FOR GALLERY ON THE CORNER

The Gallery on the Corner will host a pop-up shop a week tomorrow (Saturday 4 June) to raise funds for its brilliant work with people who have autism.

The young Scottish designer Catriona Garforth's spring and summer collection will be on show from noon till 6pm. Models will display the clothes, whose quality visitors are invited to touch and feel for themselves. Bubbles will be served, and we're not talking Irn-Bru.

Special discounts will be available on the day.

The clothes to be shown form part of Pure, 'a luxury occasion wear label, handmade using the finest silks, laces and chiffons. The cuts are designed to flatter and the designs are of a sophistication that will draw gasps of admiration for years to come.' So, if you see anyone at the event dressed like a sentient compost-heap, you can be sure that it's a Spurtle correspondent not a model having an off-day.

The Gallery on the Corner – a registered charity whose exhibitions are regularly featured in these pages  – is at 34 Northumberland Street (on the corner of Dundas Street), Tel. 557 6969: www.thegalleryonthecorner.org.uk
