NEW BROUGHTON OLD PICTURE?

Elizabeth Fraser (née Simpson) has contacted Spurtle from Sydney, Australia. She was born at 7 New Broughton in 1931, then 'a slum', and now seeks a photograph of her birthplace at around that time.

We found some early images of Paterson's Court on Barony Street in the Capital Collections and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland, but nothing of New Broughton itself. Can any readers help?

Later moving to Stockbridge and, during the war, St Vincent Street, Elizabeth followed her fiancé down under in October 1952, and has lived there ever since.

You can read some of her memories in Letters.
