The never-ending on-off romance between City of Edinburgh Planners and the Cameron Guest House Group (CGHG) continues. CGHG has applied to amend the kitchen location and ventilation of effluvia in the basement of their development at 34–8 York Place to allow the removal of condition No. 6 of the granted application (Ref. 11/01750/FUL). This condition restricted cooking of food on the premises to a single microwave and one toaster – hardly ideal for any but the most austere of Scottish hospitality providers. See Breaking news (15.3.11).
