SNOG IN THE PARK – PART 4

Submitted by Editor on

One day to go until T in the Park opens and, right on cue, the heavens open, writes Iain MacPhail. Whisky Kiss have booked Scotland’s biggest limo, so we hope the underfoot (or underwheel) conditions have dried up by Sunday or else we could get that sinking feeling. We're pretty sure a 16-seat Hummer will be a fairly heavy machine!

As you would expect of a souped-up and massively over-hyped ceilidh band based in Broughton, Whisky Kiss have a VIP Guest List and entourage that is both star-studded and influential. We know you’d be disappointed if it were otherwise.

[img_assist|nid=1913|title=|desc=|link=node|align=right|width=200|height=147]Two of our VIP guests were due to be the UK’s main medal hopefuls for the next Winter Olympics, the ice dance starlets from West Lothian John and Sinead Kerr. They are brilliant (as well as being great fun to be around) and they are now based in New York working with their coach, the little-known ice dancer Christopher Dean.

John & Sinead are proud of their Scots roots, and once used some music by me for their Free Dance at the 2006 Winter Olympics. We’ve been firm friends since, and we partied hard with John when Whisky Kiss were over in New York for Tartan Week (picture of John, centre, with me and Scotty from Whisky Kiss either side).

Sinead had been recovering from an ankle injury at the time, which they feared would ruin their whole season, but we’re delighted to say she's made a full recovery, quicker-than-expected. It does, however, mean that they're back in demand on the rink ... and this weekend  – instead of supping a Pint of Hugh with the band in Balado – they're going to be appearing live on US TV in the American Dancing on Ice. Amazing!!!

[img_assist|nid=1914|title=|desc=|link=node|align=right|width=200|height=182]John was gutted to be missing T in the Park, but it does mean we have 2 VIP guest passes available, and Whisky Kiss (and the Kerrs) are delighted to make them available to the people of Broughton via a charity auction.

So, are you the type of person who would give your eye teeth for some tickets to TITP (with VIP hospitality!!) ... well then, save those dental fees and let your local ceilidh band Whisky Kiss take the strain!!

Our great pals at Vino Wines are going to administer the auction for the VIP passes – best thing to do is check the Vino Wines Facebook page (or the Whisky Kiss one)  for directions on how to enter.

The VIP tickets are for this Sunday, 10 July. They entitle you to access to all the stages PLUS access to hospitality in the VIP & band section ... that means no queuing at the public bar or toilets with the riff-raff, you can use the exclusive ones in the VIP area – this is a very Broughton affair! So click on the Vino or Whisky Kiss page and Good Luck!!

Whisky Kiss play the Ceilidh Tent from 5–7pm on Sunday.

We'll be joined on stage in the show by the Scottish champion breakdancers, the Flyin Jalapenos. We’ll also be joined by the smokin hot world champion Highland Dancers from Assemble & Leap. It promises to be quite a show!

More later.
