THREE GARDENS IN THE HAND WORTH ONE IN THE BUSH

Submitted by Editor on
I have read with interest the thread of correspondence regarding the exclusivity of Drummond Place Garden, writes John MacDonald of Jamaica Street Lane.

My advice to the individuals who have applications gathering dust in the Garden secretary's 'pending' tray is to seek gardens slightly further afield.

I think they should try Queen Street Gardens, where they will have a choice of joining one of three separate spaces – each one slightly different due to the landscaping. In my humble opinion, these gardens have a more open, rural feel than the confined perspective of Drummond Place Garden.

Why waste your application when you could be enjoying a walk in a garden this year perhaps? Plus the extra few metres' walk to Queen Street Gardens would be beneficial to your health.

Drummond pl is a communal back garden. It's private. Why not ask all new town residents to open their private gdns? Boring story
