YOUR CHANCE TO FEEL SAFER

Submitted by Editor on

Take a closer look at the map on the right by clicking here. You may not feel like it, but if you live in Broughton anywhere south-east of Newhaven Road and Pilrig Street, or north of Canonmills, Bellevue and East London Street, the chances are that the Council gnomes in their wisdom think you're a Leither.

You are covered by the Leith Neighbourhood Partnership, and therefore have a vested interest in attending the latter's Feeling Safe Community Forum (FSCF) tomorrow in McDonald Road Library.

The FSCF aims to create an environment in which people feel safe (not just disorientated), and as part of that remit will be introducing residents, visitors and workers to local police officers, environmental wardens and community safety officers. Those who attend can also help choose six local priorities for police and council officials to focus upon for the next three months.

So, whether you're bothered by burglars, threatening behaviour in the park, cyclists on pavements, vandalism, sorcery or anti-social grave-robbers making a din in the middle of the night, now is your chance to have your say.

The meeting lasts from 11am to 1pm, with a light lunch and refreshments included as part of the fun.
