FREEDOM TO ROAM
Currently at anchor off Inchkeith lies the 70m x 13m Benetti superyacht Freedom.
Yesterday afternoon, while she stood closer to Cockenzie, Spurtle examined her through a high-powered zoom lens from Calton Hill (see image right). After over an hour’s careful scrutiny, we had still detected no human activity aboard whatsoever.
With a top speed speed of 14 knots (16 mph), Freedom has 5 decks with 6 cabins to accommodate 12 (sleeping) passengers.

It shows the Cyprus-registered Seaway Alpha Lift leaving Leith this morning bound for Inch Cape, where she was expected to arrive at about 3pm.
SUPERSTRUCTURES

CFC Renaissance (Compagnie Française de Croisières) will depart Leith at 8.00pm, bound for Aberdeen then Orkney then Shetland.

TOWERING PRESENCE IN LEITH
This towering presence – moored in Leith – is the Hua Yang Long: a semi-submersible heavy-lift carrier owned by Guagzhou Salvage and sailing under the flag of China.
Spurtle understands the ship is carrying components destined for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm (43 miles NE of Pilrig St Paul's Church), currently under construction.
