Yesterday's Guardian added usefully to our planning coverage of 22 September (Breaking news).
Contrary to explicit assertions made to Spurtle in 2008, it now seems the projected development at 47–9 Annandale Street was not intended as any kind of tram-control centre. Even our non-specific description of its original purpose as 'trams administration' – a term used only after seeking clarification from Lothian Regional Transport staff on Wednesday – is apparently wide of the mark.
There is therefore no clear connection between a postponed office development, the stalled trams project, and proposed creation of hard standing at 49 Annandale Street.
We apologise for any confusion.
