GRASPING THE NETTLE OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS

Submitted by Editor on

RADICAL SOLUTION FOR CITY-CENTRE EYESORE

The seven samples of artificial grass shown below are on sale at Carpet Warehouse on East London Street.

They are apparently ideal for patios, balconies, swimming pool surrounds, children's play areas, roof terraces, and … um … lawns.

So, given that it has once again begun to disappear beneath duckboards and canvas, why not also St Andrew Square Garden?

We estimate that the products could be used to 'returf' the entire, mud-blighted and unsightly, 102 acre (42 hectare) area at a cost of between £523,950 for the cheapest variety and £3,148,950 for the most expensive.

Such an investment would offer an attractive and durable alternative to inadequate and unsightly Nature, and deliver a welcome boost to a Spurtleshire retailer.

So, to help determine which kind of non-grass offers best value for money, use your judgement to match the various shades and textures with the following names provided by the manufacturer (shown here in alphabetical order). And then determine which you think is top of the range and which bottom.

AUGUSTA, CYPRESS, FORREST (sic), HIGHLAND, PROVENCE, SPRING, YORKSHIRE.

Answers will appear here tomorrow.
