TWO OPEN E-MAILS ON BELLEVUE'S FESTIVE RECYCLING FARCE

Dear waste@edinburgh.gov.uk

Thank you for responding to my extensive email of 10th December with your hand delivered letter of 11th December apologising for your failure to inform me of the revised waste/recycling collections.

As requested, I have attached stickers to my green bin and blue box and redistributed materials into the appropriate receptacles.

Last Thursday evening, I placed the green (now recycling) bin and blue (now glass/batteries/small electricals) box out onto the street for collection on Friday in line with the bin collection schedule P5 Fri2b (ii).

Unfortunately, it would appear that, while you have belated informed me of the new collection arrangements, you have not realised that you also need to tell the people who actually carry out the on-street collections of these changes.

My green bin and blue box currently remain on the pavement un-emptied.

I would now like to say something witty and vaguely sarcastic, but, quite frankly, I am largely lost for (emailable) words at this point, so I will keep things as brief as possible.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE JUST EMPTY MY BINS.

It’s not rocket science.

Sincerely

Neil Jones

Another week gone and another missed collection.  Nothing was taken yesterday.  What is going on?  Do I need to put a freedom of information request in to find out?  One recycling collection a week is not enough.

This needs sorted.  I'm now putting my recycling in the bin as there is no alternative.  The trial is supposed to encourage recycling isn't it?

Will any of my councillors look into this?

Regards

James Blake
