Today's evening spectacle was of course interesting to serious astronomers and general gawpers at the heavens alike.

Fit young sporty types and not so fit or young Amey staff gathered in groups across Drummond Community High School's playground. There were celestial oohs and an occasional earthly aah.
On Bellevue Terrace, a local elected member and a community councillor separately supervised the orderly passage of the sun across Broughton. Satisfied that it had moved into Stockbridge without causing a nuisance, they left.
Given that so much fun resulted from a mere partial eclipse, we can't wait to witness the End of Days.
