WORK STARTS ON NEW TOWN QUARTER
Morrison Construction 'took possession' of the New Town Quarter site on 28 September before starting work on 5 residential blocks beside Fettes Row, Royal Crescent and King George V Park.
Developer Ediston told Spurtle yesterday that work over the next 3 months is planned as follows:
Week 1
1. Establish site boundaries.
2. Take delivery of welfare and plant.
3. Survey site and drainage network.
4. Commence enabling works.
Weeks 2–7
1. Complete enabling works.
2. Cut to formation level.
3. Distribute stone onsite to form piling mats.
4. Distribute stone onsite to form haul roads.
5. Import clean stone to final grade piling mats.
Weeks 3–13
1. Complete probing.
2. Complete sheet piling to east boundaries.
3. Complete CFA piling to building footprints.
Having once watched, from a third-floor window, neighbours build a raised bed for vegetables in a Bellevue back green, the Editor understands perfectly what's going on in general terms.
