MEALS IN THE LANTERN ROOM, BAXTER'S PLACE

The last time we visited the Courtyard Edinburgh, it took a bit of effort to imagine how the city’s latest hotel would look when finished.

Back in October, staff and builders were racing to complete the project in time for Christmas, and Spurtle had to rely on artist’s impressions and our customary sunny optimism to convey what the venue on Baxter's Place would eventually be like.

No such problems exist now. The hotel is up and running and open for business, and staff there keen to introduce local people to what’s available.

To this end, we’re delighted to report that Spurtle readers are being offered special deals in the Lantern Room restaurant between now and 28 February 2017.

  • Prix Fixe menu offer – 3 courses for price of 2 courses (£18 instead of £22)
  • Prix Fixe menu offer – 2 courses with free glass of wine (£18)
  • Afternoon tea – noon till 5pm, every day – with free glass of Prosecco (£16.95)

The Lantern Room describes itself, illuminatingly, as:

a new style of restaurant for those looking for a refreshingly modern take on locally sourced food and drinks, traditional dishes and service. The menu builds on Scottish produce from trusted local suppliers. The food is simple, high quality and flavoursome; served as light bites, as part of a fixed priced menu freshly prepared on a daily basis and for more refined dining. With everything presented with a contemporary flair from platters to share, to a working lunch, a pre-theatre dinner or late-night supper, there is something for everyone any time of the day or night.

To try it for yourself, PRINT OUT THE PDF BELOW and present it to staff. Online booking isn’t always necessary, but is advisable to avoid disappointment. The restaurant will be closed on 23 February for a private function.
