Responding to the Erosion Emergency announced on 12 September (Issue 355), the Calton Hill Conservation Trust, Collective Gallery and Café Calton have together purchased 240 square meters of turf for the barren area fronting the National Monument.
Edinburgh Council will help with ground preparation and logistics.
The turf will be delivered on 12 November (possibly extending until 14 November).
Volunteers are now sought to rake the top soil and lay the turf.
If your patience has worn thin with the bare-faced cheeks of Calton Hill, and you have time to help, contact chair@caltonhilltrust.org for details.
