The closely related Gardener's Cottage (London Road Gardens) and Lookout restaurants (Calton Hill) have permanently closed.
The former's website thanks patrons for 'all your support over the years'.
These are tough times for restaurants: customers with less disposable income; increased ingredient prices; fuel-intensive kitchens with increased energy costs.
This is depressing news which comes hot on the heels of Cuckoo Bakery's sudden closure at the foot of Dundas Street.
We expect more of the same over coming weeks.
